Bobi Wine Can Win the Election But Won’t Be Announced – Moses Muhangi

Uganda Boxing Federation President and politician Moses Muhangi has made bold remarks about National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine, saying he has the numbers to win a presidential election but would not be declared the winner by the Electoral Commission.

Muhangi, who is currently contesting for the Kampala Central MP seat, said Bobi Wine commands massive support among youths and urban voters, but that alone may not be enough to secure him the presidency.

“Even when Bobi Wine wins the election, I don’t see him being announced as President by the Electoral Commission,” Muhangi said.

He added that while Kyagulanyi’s influence is undeniable, political victory in Uganda requires more than popularity.

Turning to his own ambitions, Muhangi expressed confidence in defeating his main rivals — David Lewis Rubongoya, the NUP Secretary General, and Minister Aminsa Kabanda, who is also eyeing the Kampala Central seat.

“My biggest rivals are David Lewis Rubongoya and Aminsa Kabanda, but I’m very capable of beating them,” he said, adding that voters would “be doing themselves a disservice” by choosing candidates unwilling to work with President Museveni.
