Comedian Teacher Mpamire has publicly questioned Eddy Kenzo and the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) regarding the allocation of government funding intended for the creative industry.

The UNMF has been consistently receiving funds from the government on behalf of the creative sector.

According to Teacher Mpamire, the UNMF, and Eddy Kenzo specifically, received UGX 5 billion from the government. However, Mpamire alleges that these funds were diverted solely to musicians, effectively excluding other creatives such as comedians and filmmakers.

Mpamire expressed his dismay on social media, questioning why Kenzo has seemingly excluded other creative professionals from accessing government funds. He also challenged Kenzo's role as a presidential advisor on creatives, implying his focus appears limited to musicians.

"Government gave Creatives 5 billion shillings, but all the money was diverted to Music Federation under Eddy Kenzo," Mpamire wrote. "Does the word 'Creatives' mean only Musicians? Where does it leave we Comedians and other Creatives? Is Eddy Kenzo a presidential advisor for only Music Creatives?"

Teacher Mpamire's concerns echo those of promoters who recently clashed with Eddy Kenzo over a separate allocation of UGX 30 billion received by the federation from the government, also intended for the creative industry.

As of Friday, August 1, 2025, Eddy Kenzo has yet to respond to Mpamire's comments.
