Musician Kasadha John, also known as John Blaq, has been active in the music industry for almost ten years, and his comments always drive opinion.
The singer, however, refused to participate in the activities of the Uganda National Musicians Federation. He has never appeared at their offices in Mutundwe.
He has opened up about the reasons for doing so, revealing that he has personal problems to handle that are beyond those of the music industry.
He explained that the music elders, mentioning Kenzo, Cindy, and Phina Masanyalaze, should continue doing the advocacy for the good of the industry.
"I have my personal problems beyond the music industry. It's the reason I don't engage in the federation meetings. Let our elders in the industry handle that, the likes of Eddy Kenzo, Daddy Andre, Cindy, and Phina Masanyalaze, among others," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
John Blaq believes the problems affecting the industry are general, and the leaders of different associations and groups can manage to handle them for the benefit of others.
The Uganda National Musicians Federation was launched in 2023. It is led by Eddy Kenzo and focuses on addressing different challenges and problems affecting the music industry, majorly the copyright law amendment.
