Politician Fred Mukasa Mbidde has sparked fresh debate after alleging that Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, is in the United States pursuing citizenship.
Speaking in an interview with a local radio station, Mbidde claimed that the National Unity Platform (NUP) leader is working to secure American citizenship for himself and his family.
“Bobi Wine went to ask for citizenship in America. I was tipped off by someone with deep knowledge there. He sent his family first, and now he is following up on the process,” Mbidde alleged.
However, when pressed to provide evidence or further details, the legislator declined, stating that the information was classified.
The claims come shortly after Bobi Wine confirmed that he had temporarily left Uganda to engage international partners and advance his political agenda.
So far, there has been no official response from Bobi Wine regarding the citizenship allegations, leaving the claims unverified.
