Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo has stepped in to reconcile musicians Mudra and D Star, bringing an end to their public fallout over the Hoozambe Remix.
According to Kenzo, a professional review of the song’s earnings was conducted to establish how much revenue had been generated and how it should be shared between the two artistes.
He revealed that the review showed Mudra had not received even 2% of the reported Shs 140 million that had been widely mentioned during their disagreement.
Following the findings, the two artistes reportedly reached a fresh agreement regarding royalty sharing and ownership rights connected to the remix.
Kenzo explained that the matter was handled professionally, allowing both sides to clearly understand their respective contributions and financial entitlements after a detailed assessment of the project.
“The two artistes have even apologized to each other over the harsh words they said out of frustration and anger. Everything is now sorted, and they will be seen performing together on the same stage,” Kenzo said.
He added that while he could not publicly disclose the specific details of the new agreement, both musicians are now aware of who owns what percentage and how future royalties will be distributed.
The development brings to an end the public dispute that had surrounded the Hoozambe Remix, with fans now expected to once again see Mudra and D Star performing together.
