Veteran singer Catherine Kusasira has boldly declared herself among Uganda’s finest female musicians, saying her talent and stagecraft place her in a league of her own.
Kusasira believes only she and Cindy Sanyu stand out as complete entertainers capable of delivering both powerful vocals and electrifying live performances.
“Many artists have good songs, but very few can command the stage the way we do,” she emphasized.
More Than Just Hit Songs
According to Kusasira, true success in music goes beyond recording chart-topping songs.
She stressed that confidence, stage presence, appearance, and the ability to connect with fans are all key ingredients that define a great artist.
For her, these qualities are what separate ordinary singers from true performers.

While discussing other female stars, Kusasira acknowledged Grace Nakimera as talented but said she falls outside her top three.
She also praised Mary Bata for her vocal ability and stage energy, though ranking her lower on the list.
With years in the game and a catalog of hit songs behind her, Kusasira insists her legacy speaks for itself—and when it comes to blending vocals with performance, she says only Cindy comes close.
