Events promoter Abitex has announced that NBS Television and Sanyuka TV are no longer allowed to cover his events.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Abitex said he does not feel dependent on the two broadcasters, arguing that promoters now have several alternative platforms through which they can promote their events and communicate with the public.
“I have since banned NBS and Sanyuka Television. There are a lot of different houses I can use to put out my messages. I have banned them from covering my events. I don’t need anything from them. They need me, and I need them, but I think I can survive without them,” he said.
Abitex also accused NBS of denying singer Lydia Jazmine an opportunity to participate in its Power Play programme because she allegedly declined to perform for free at one of the station’s events.
