Musician Maro has confirmed December 4, 2026, as the date for his long-awaited concert dubbed “The Great Maro Concert.”
The singer made the announcement through his social media platforms, calling on fans to turn up at UMA Showgrounds Lugogo, Kampala, for the highly anticipated show.
Maro, known for songs such as Genda Ewamwe, Kyokoba, Mubbi Bubbi and Anjagala, reflected on his musical journey while announcing the concert.
“4th Dec! For the Love of Ugandan music. Those who would love to experience with me the prime of a once prodigal son, raised in Nsambya, shaped by a humble background and the fact that a musician was seen as less than nothing. We had to write lyrics mature enough to gain parental approval,” he wrote in part.
Maro also reflected on the challenges he has faced over the years, saying his experiences have reminded him of the importance of his identity as a musician.
“I have been to places I have never imagined to be, lost friends on the way to where I am! I almost left the world last year. All of this reminded me of one great thing that has ever happened to me, which is being Maro!” he added.
He then urged his fans to join him at UMA Showgrounds on December 4 for what he described as an opportunity to celebrate their shared love for music.
The concert had initially been scheduled for last year but was postponed, with financial difficulties among the challenges cited.
Maro is now set to take the stage on December 4, 2026, as he looks to reconnect with his fans and celebrate his musical journey.
