Rapper Feffe Bussi has attributed the strong performance of Nigerian music to the frequency of releases and the strategies artistes use to reach wider audiences.

The rapper argued that Nigerian musicians release music more consistently than many of their Ugandan counterparts, giving listeners a steady supply of new songs through solo projects, collaborations and remixes.

According to Feffe Bussi, some Ugandan artistes focus on releasing one song at a time and spend several months promoting it before moving on to another project.

“There are things we follow even when we don’t know who implemented them. You find an artist releasing just one song in a whole year. Those Nigerians are different, they release music one after the other, including collaborations and remixes,” he said.

Feffe Bussi also highlighted collaborations as an important part of Nigeria’s music strategy, explaining that working with different artistes allows musicians to tap into multiple fan bases.

He suggested that Ugandan musicians could benefit from adopting more consistent release schedules and collaborating more frequently to expand their reach and keep audiences engaged.
