Musician Lydia Jazmine has admitted that Uganda's music industry is going through a difficult period, saying the once vibrant scene is no longer as energetic as it used to be.
Speaking during an interview with a local YouTuber, Jazmine was asked to assess the current state of the industry and gave a candid response, acknowledging concerns that many artistes and fans have raised.
“I think the music industry is struggling a bit. It is true, it's been so for a bit. It is not fired up like before,” she said.

Jazmine's comments add to an ongoing conversation about the challenges facing Uganda's entertainment industry, with stakeholders increasingly questioning why the sector appears to have lost some of its previous momentum.
Among the issues frequently raised are political divisions within the industry, limited government support, declining concert activity and changing consumer habits.
Despite the challenges, Uganda continues to produce new artistes and music, while established performers remain determined to keep the industry moving.
