Veteran dancehall singer Kid Fox, real name Steven Kiggundu, has reflected on his music career, saying he believes he would have become one of Uganda’s biggest artistes had he remained active in the industry.
Kid Fox was regarded as one of the prominent dancehall singers during his prime before stepping away from music and relocating to Japan, where he has lived for more than a decade.
The singer recently announced his return to music and has since been working on new projects while making media appearances as he rebuilds his career in Uganda.
During a recent television interview, Kid Fox was asked where he thinks he would be today if he had never left the music industry.
He said he believes he would have reached the top of Uganda’s music scene and possibly become a key figure in the wider industry.
“To be positive, I would have been very big. Probably one of the biggest artists chilling in my big base. They would be consulting me. I would be having some of the best labels, with the industry in a good place,” he said.
Kid Fox added that he hopes his return to the music scene will contribute to making Uganda’s entertainment industry more vibrant.
