The National carrier, Uganda Airlines will on Wednesday July 31st 2019 make its maiden flight from Entebbe to Nairobi.

Uganda’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Richard Kabonero spilled the beans this morning while speaking at the launch of Uganda-Tanzania Business Forum 2019 web portal according to Kabonero, the first flight out of Entebbe to Dar-Es-Salaam is on the same day.

“I am glad that representatives from Uganda Airlines are here, the first flight from Entebbe to Dar-Es-Salaam will be on July 31st right in time to bring you to Tanzania.

However, a senior official at the airline intimated to us, that the first flight to Dar, will be the day after the launch, which is 1st August 2019. The Airline remains tight lipped and is yet to confirm the Ambassador’s revelation.

There is fear that if they do not receive and Air Operator’s Certificate by mid this year, the aircraft will remain parked. The 90 days set by CAA will end on 24th of this month, and until then, Uganda Airlines cannot know her fate.

Ambassador Kabonero’s revelation eases the social media fire that has seen many attack the airline for not revealing their maiden flight dates and fares to the seven destinations they plan on flying to.

Uganda Airlines received 2 Bombardier CJ-900 on April 23rd 2019. Two more Bombardiers are expected to arrive soon, with one of them getting here this month. Uganda will also receive airbuses to fly international in 2020.

The first 7 destinations are; Nairobi, Tanzania, Mogadishu, Momabasa, Bujumbura, Kilimanjaro and Juba.
