Uganda earned US$185.99 million from coffee exports in November 2025 after exporting 640,328 60-kilogram bags, according to the latest monthly sector report.
The performance represents a 60 percent increase in export volumes and a 71 percent rise in earnings compared to November 2024, driven by higher shipments and improved international prices.
Robusta coffee accounted for the largest share, with 510,091 bags valued at US$131.17 million, while 130,237 bags of Arabica were exported, earning US$54.83 million. Arabica exports more than doubled compared to the same period last year, both in volume and value.
The average export price rose to US$4.84 per kilogram, up from US$4.51 in October and US$4.54 in November 2024, reflecting stronger global market conditions.
Solid Performance Over the Past Year

Between December 2024 and November 2025, Uganda exported 8.7 million bags worth US$2.4 billion, compared to 5.8 million bags valued at US$1.4 billion in the previous 12-month period.
This represents a 48.49 percent increase in volume and a 77.33 percent increase in export earnings, reinforcing coffee’s position as one of the country’s leading foreign exchange earners.
Robusta Maintains Lead as Arabica Gains Ground
Robusta made up 80 percent of total exports in November, down from 87 percent in October as Arabica shipments increased.
The average Robusta price stood at US$4.29 per kilogram, with washed Robusta selling at up to US$5.01 per kilogram. Arabica averaged US$7.02 per kilogram, with Bugisu C/PB attracting the highest price at US$8.38 per kilogram.
Export Market Concentration Increases
The top ten exporting companies accounted for 65 percent of total exports in November, up from 64 percent the previous month.
Ugacof (U) Ltd led exporters with a 17.25 percent share, followed by Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd (8.42 percent), Touton Uganda Ltd (8.03 percent), Export Trading Company (U) Ltd (7.11 percent) and Jber Coffee Ltd (6.54 percent).
A total of 76 companies exported coffee during the month, with 28 handling only Robusta and 18 dealing exclusively in Arabica.
Europe Remains Uganda’s Main Market

Europe continued to take the largest share of Uganda’s coffee, accounting for 67 percent of total exports.
Italy remained the leading destination with 25.80 percent, followed by Germany (14.01 percent), the United States (7.99 percent), India (7.13 percent) and Belgium (5.30 percent).
Exports to African countries declined to 55,671 bags, representing 9 percent of total shipments, compared to 16 percent in October.
Prices Improve at Farm Level
Farm-gate prices remained favourable in November, with Robusta Kiboko trading between UGX 6,500 and 7,000 per kilogram, FAQ between UGX 14,000 and 15,000, and Arabica parchment and Drugar between UGX 16,000 and 17,000 per kilogram.
Outlook
Coffee exports for December 2025 are projected at 500,000 bags as harvesting in parts of Central and Eastern Uganda slows.
