Media personality and political analyst Frank Gashumba has come out to claim that NTV Uganda blacklisted him due to his support for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).
Gashumba, who was once a regular guest on NTV’s talk shows, including the popular Tuwaye program hosted by Frank Walusimbi, says he hasn’t been invited to the station for over two years.
Speaking during an appearance on Radio 4, Gashumba said he was informed that the Serena-based television network no longer covers PLU activities or gives airtime to its supporters.
“I was informed that NTV Uganda blacklisted me from their station and ceased coverage of our events solely because of my open support for General Muhoozi Kainerugaba. It’s terrible for a credible media house to do that,” he said.
His remarks come just days after Nation Media Group journalists were blocked from covering parliamentary proceedings — a situation that has fueled public debate on media freedom and political bias in Uganda.
It’s also widely known that Nation Media Group, which owns NTV Uganda, remains restricted from covering the President of Uganda and all his official activities.
