Musician David Lutalo has ventured into Swahili music and is optimistic about achieving greater success following the release of his maiden Swahili single, Sija Lala.
As the song continues to gain traction across East Africa, the Ugandan star has boldly claimed that he is a better vocalist than Tanzanian music giant Diamond Platnumz.
Lutalo explained that while he rates himself higher in terms of vocal ability, Diamond remains ahead because of the strong international career and brand he has built over the years.
"I believe I am a better singer than Diamond Platnumz. The difference is that he is a much bigger powerhouse in the music industry," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
David Lutalo also made it clear that he does not want to be compared to Diamond Platnumz, saying he wants to be recognized and appreciated for his own unique work.
"Being called Diamond Lutalo does not make me happy. My name is David Lutalo, and that is how I want people to know me," he added.
