Musician Karole Kasita has insisted that she remains a fan of Cindy Sanyu despite recently collaborating with fellow singer Sheebah Karungi.
Kasita previously worked with Cindy on the song Mwoto at a time when she was still an upcoming artiste. The collaboration helped raise her profile in Uganda’s music industry.
However, Kasita’s recent collaboration with Sheebah attracted attention on social media, with some people questioning the move given her previous association with Cindy.
Responding to the discussion, Kasita maintained that working with Sheebah had not changed her admiration for Cindy, whom she says she will continue to support.
“I am still a Cindy fan, and forever will be. I’m still going to do so many collaborations that will shock you. It’s business and if opportunity comes, it has come,” she said.
Kasita explained that music is a business and artistes should be open to working with different people when opportunities arise.
She believes professional collaborations should not be limited by personal friendships or past working relationships, suggesting that she is willing to explore more musical partnerships in the future.
