The Defence and Internal Affairs Committee of parliament will visits Kasese on Friday 09th Dec 2016 to assess the security situation following the clashes that left many people dead.

This was reached at during a closed door probe chaired by Mityana Woman MP Judith Nabakooba and former Minister for Defence Crispus Kiyonga.

The committee today started investigations into the recent attacks which left over 100 people dead scores injured and dozens arrested.

The attacks also led to the arrest of King Charles Wesley Mumbere of the Rwenzururu kingdom. He is now facing murder charges.

Earlier on, the Head of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence, Brig. Charles Bakahumura, appeared before the committee but he declined to speak to journalists after the closed meeting.
