Musician Lydia Jasmine is a member of the Uganda National Musicians Federation ( UNMF) which was formed recently to foster peace within the music industry.

The federation is seen by some as a group filled with self-centered musicians who are scheming to get money from the government. However, Lydia Jasmine disagrees with that narrative.

She explained her interest is basically about improving the music industry so that she can earn from her craft. She is confident that with the push of other musicians, together they can achieve copyright for their products.

"I am not interested in money. You all know that I have not been to meetings of money before. Personally, I am in the federation for the betterment of our industry and I want the copyright law implemented," she said during an interview with the media.

The federation is led by musician Eddy Kenzo.
