Musician Elijah Kitaka is one of the fastest-growing artists in the industry and one with a bright future regarding taking Ugandan music to the global stage.

His comments have often caused a stir and are felt by all industry stakeholders.

Elijah Kitaka has blamed Kenzo's Jam Sessions for hindering industry growth. He says they should build more steps for the betterment of the industry instead of rotating around jam sessions.

He also urged fellow artists to go back to the studio and record music instead of focusing more on social media and trending discussions.

"Instead of doing music that fits the global market, we are busy, comfortable on social media, speaking nonsense while the rest of the world is moving too fast. Let's stop with the jam sessions and build steps. This isn't a time for jam sessions and 'Simanya Ono anjogeddeko,'" he wrote on his X account.

Elijah adds that artists of today are more focused on cameras and publicity instead of producing music with global appeal.

"This music industry has turned into a circus show; people love cameras more than studio microphones, Naye Mwe," he added.

Elijah Kitaka believes stakeholders like the UNMF need to refocus the industry on better issues instead of concentrating on jam sessions.
