Events promoter Biggie Events has landed in serious trouble after being committed to Luzira Prison for failing to clear a UGX 70 million debt owed to Tumusiime David Amooti.

According to a court order, the promoter was found guilty of failing to settle the debt and was consequently sent to prison for six months or until the amount is fully paid.

The order, issued by the Court Registrar, directs the Officer in Charge of Luzira Prison to keep Biggie in custody until she clears the debt and associated court costs.

“The respondent has neither paid the amount due nor shown cause why payment has not been made. You are therefore commanded to take and receive the said judgment debtor into civil prison at Luzira for a period not exceeding six months or until the amount is paid in full,” part of the court order reads.

This is not the first time Biggie Events has been embroiled in money-related controversies. Over the years, she has faced multiple accusations of failing to pay service providers and musicians after concerts.
