Popular TikTok content creator Timothy Kayanja, widely known as Jayden, has appealed to the public for financial assistance as he urgently seeks UGX 200 million for a bone marrow transplant.
Jayden, who rose to fame for his humorous and inspirational TikTok videos, revealed that he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia, a rare and life-threatening condition in which the bone marrow completely fails to produce blood cells.
According to Jayden, doctors have given him three months to undergo a bone marrow transplant, which can only be performed in Nairobi, Kenya.
“My bone marrow has completely failed. Doctors have given me three months to get a Bone Marrow Transplant. I cannot afford this alone,” he stated in an online appeal.
Medical experts from leading hospitals including Nairobi West Hospital, Aga Khan University Hospital, and HCG CCK Cancer Centre have estimated the full treatment cost to range between KES 2.5M–6M, approximately UGX 80M–200M, covering tests, donor matching, the procedure, medication, and follow-up care.
The TikTok star has since launched an online fundraising campaign, calling on Ugandans and well-wishers around the world to help him access the life-saving treatment.
