Uganda’s Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has told National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, to stop what she called “playing comedy” and return home.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Nabbanja dismissed claims that security agencies are hunting down the singer-turned-politician.
According to Nabbanja, no security institution is pursuing Bobi Wine, and he should freely go back to his home and live normally with his family.
She further accused Bobi Wine of misleading his supporters by claiming that he is being targeted for arrest by security operatives.
“No one is looking for Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu. He should stop the comedy and return home to his family. He is just playing with the minds of his supporters and followers,” Nabbanja said.
However, Bobi Wine insists that security agents are after him and claims he has been forced to stay away from his home since the 15th of this month, following the presidential elections.
The conflicting statements have continued to spark debate online, with supporters on both sides questioning who is telling the truth.
