Renowned lawyer and politician Medard Segona has weighed in on the growing uncertainty surrounding Bobi Wine’s whereabouts, urging the National Unity Platform (NUP) president to either come out of hiding or consider going into exile.

Bobi Wine, the singer-turned-politician, is reportedly on the run, with his physical location remaining unknown. He has claimed that security agencies are after him for undisclosed reasons.

Speaking in an interview with a local YouTuber, Sseggona argued that Bobi Wine’s continued hiding has created a leadership vacuum within the opposition, especially at a time when NUP needs strong and visible direction.

Segona advised the Kyadondo East MP to confront the state through legal channels if he believes he is being unfairly targeted.

“I am asking him to come out and we take them on. We can face them in court and regain your freedom,” Segona said.

Alternatively, Segona suggested that Bobi Wine should consider going into exile if he genuinely fears for his life.

“If he feels they are after his life, then it is better to go into exile and explain to the people. At least when you are alive, you can still lead,” he added.

Segona believes that either decision — facing the state legally or seeking safety abroad — would be better than remaining in hiding, which he says weakens the opposition’s leadership and direction.
