Musician Ava Peace says her upbringing in a God-fearing family has helped her remain humble and respectful despite gaining recognition in Uganda’s music industry.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Ava Peace explained that the values she learned at home and through church continue to shape how she treats people, even as her music career grows.
The singer said she believes success should not make an artiste arrogant or cause them to look down on others.
“Growing up at home, we were groomed in church, God-fearing and very respectful. It has helped me until today. I remain humble and respectful to everyone. I am not arrogant even with the stardom,” she said.
Ava Peace also recalled her early days in the music industry, saying she encountered established musicians who refused to take selfies with her because they considered themselves stars.
She suggested that those experiences have stayed with her and reinforced her desire to treat people differently, regardless of their status.
The singer credited her upbringing and faith for helping her maintain her character as she continues to establish herself in the entertainment industry.
