Musician Joshua Baraka has questioned the appeal of becoming a dollar billionaire, saying he would rather build wealth without reaching a level of riches he considers excessive.

Speaking in an interview with local media, Baraka argued that becoming a billionaire in US dollars is overrated, especially when many people around the world continue to struggle financially.

The singer said he wants to become wealthy but finds it difficult to understand the idea of accumulating enormous personal wealth while others remain desperately poor.

“I feel like being a billionaire in dollars is overrated. I want to be rich, yes, but not billionaire-rich, because why are you that rich when other people are completely broke?” he said.

Baraka clarified that his position does not mean he lacks financial ambitions. He still hopes to become very wealthy but does not consider becoming a dollar billionaire a personal goal.

“I want to be wealthy, to be super rich, but I don’t think I want to be a billionaire in dollars rich,” he added.

His comments highlight his perspective on wealth and inequality, with the singer suggesting that extreme riches are less appealing to him when many people are struggling to meet their basic needs.
