Musician and Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between Gravity Omutujju and Bebe Cool over alleged unpaid campaign funds.
Speaking during an interview, Kenzo said all artists who worked under his coordination during the political campaigns were fully paid and that he does not owe anyone money.
According to the singer, the funds used to facilitate musicians during the campaigns were released by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the government.
“Personally, I paid every musician who worked under me during the campaigns. They all received their money, including musicians from Kampala and upcountry. The money was released by NRM and President Museveni a long time ago,” he explained.
Kenzo, however, distanced himself from artists who reportedly worked under Bebe Cool’s team, saying he has no authority over that arrangement.
“Those ones should keep waiting, but on my side, everything was cleared,” he added.
His comments come amid growing public debate after several artists accused Bebe Cool of failing to clear payments related to campaign mobilization activities.
