Musicians Sheebah Karungi and King Michael are set to stage their concerts on the same date, September 20, 2023. King Michael has appealed to Kenzo, the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), to intervene and stop Sheebah from staging her festival on the same date.

King Michael said he booked the date for his concert last year and has invested a lot of money in it. He believes that Sheebah is aware of this and is deliberately trying to sabotage his concert. He also said that Sheebah is a member of UNMF and Kenzo, as her president, should use his influence to make her change the date of her concert.

"I want Kenzo to reign on Sheebah," King Michael said in an interview with a local television station. "I booked that date last year and I have put in a lot of money so I ask Kenzo who is Sheebah's President to speak about it with her."

Sheebah has not yet commented on the matter.

It is unclear what Kenzo will do in response to King Michael's request. However, the concert date clash is a major embarrassment for UNMF, which is supposed to be a body that represents and protects the interests of all musicians in Uganda. The fact that two of its members are now publicly feuding over a concert date is a sign that the federation is failing to do its job.

It remains to be seen whether Kenzo will intervene in the matter and if he does, what action he will take. However, the concert date clash is a clear indication that there is no love lost between King Michael and Sheebah, and it is likely to be a major talking point in the Ugandan music industry for weeks to come.
