Ugandan music icon Bebe Cool has been nominated for the prestigious Timeless Impact Award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
The nomination places the Gagamel boss among 10 of Africa's most celebrated music legends. He will compete against Nigeria's Timaya, Flavour, and Kcee, Ghana's Sarkodie, South Africa's Oskido and Mafikizolo, Egypt's Amr Diab, Zambia's Slapdee, and Kenya's Nameless.

According to AFRIMMA, this year's category celebrates some of the continent's most enduring stars, representing multiple regions and musical genres. From Afrobeats and Highlife to Kwaito and Afro-pop, the award honors artists whose contributions continue to inspire fans and fellow musicians.

For East Africa, Bebe Cool and Kenya's Nameless are the only nominees in the category, highlighting the region's enduring contribution to African music.

He recently released his highly anticipated seven-track EP, NO RISK, which has been enjoying strong airplay and streaming success in Uganda. The project blends Afrobeat, Dancehall, Reggaeton, and R&B while maintaining a distinct Ugandan identity.
The EP follows his critically acclaimed album BREAK THE CHAINS, released on May 30, 2025, which earned praise for its fusion of Afro-electronic, Afrotech, and Afro-pop sounds.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Bebe Cool has evolved from a dancehall pioneer into one of Uganda's most influential musical exports, consistently shaping the country's entertainment landscape.
The Timeless Impact Award is expected to be one of the biggest highlights of AFRIMMA 2026, which will be held in Dallas, Texas.
