Musician Tracy Melon has showered fellow singer Lydia Jazmine with praise, crediting her for playing a meaningful role in her journey into Uganda's music industry.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Tracy Melon said it remains special to now work in the same industry as Jazmine, whom she once admired from a distance.
The singer recalled meeting Jazmine during a competition she participated in early in her career, where the established artiste served as one of the judges.
According to Tracy, Jazmine went beyond her role as a judge and offered genuine support that encouraged her as she pursued music.
“I have been inspired by Lydia Jazmine. It is a dream to be a colleague in the industry at the moment. She was one of the judges in a competition I participated in when starting up in the industry and she really supported me,” she partly said.
From Contestant to Colleague
Tracy's remarks highlight how her relationship with Jazmine has evolved over the years—from being an aspiring musician seeking guidance to becoming a fellow artiste.
She now joins other industry players celebrating Jazmine as the singer prepares for her highly anticipated concert scheduled for September 4 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
