Former Bukedde TV presenter Mary Flavia Namulindwa has urged men to support their wives and partners in pursuing financial independence, warning against keeping women at home out of fear that earning their own money will make them difficult to control.
In a message directed at men, Namulindwa argued that empowering women to work can help them prepare for an uncertain future and build financial security.
“Men, I implore you not to keep your wives or partners at home simply out of fear that earning their own money will make them unruly. Please, empower your women. Let them work—you never know what tomorrow might bring,” she said.
Her remarks come amid reports of possible trouble in her marriage. Unconfirmed claims circulating suggest that disagreements over her employment and financial independence may have contributed to problems in the relationship.
According to the reports, Namulindwa had previously been discouraged from working but later gained financial independence. However, the claims about the circumstances surrounding her reported marital troubles have not been independently verified.
Namulindwa recently returned from the United States, where she reportedly worked in casual employment. After a brief venture into politics, she has since turned to content creation, working as a full-time YouTuber.
