Media personality Kawalya Isaac, popularly known as Kaiyz, has sparked heated online debate after publicly claiming that he is now a citizen of the United States of America.
The controversial revelation was made earlier this week during a church service at Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s church in Nansana, where Kaiyz had gone to give his testimony.
During the service, Pastor Bugembe directly asked Kaiyz whether he had been deported from the U.S. or if he was now free to travel between Uganda and America. Without hesitation, Kaiyz stunned the congregation with his response.
“You have seen the testimony that God works. The knees don’t lie. I can go and come back any time. I’m an American,” Kaiyz declared, drawing loud reactions from the church and later from social media.
The bold claim has raised serious eyebrows online, with many questioning how Kaiyz could have obtained U.S. citizenship so quickly. Immigration experts and observers note that the formal U.S. citizenship process normally takes several years, often well beyond two.
It should be recalled that Kaiyz left Uganda in 2023, saying he was heading to the United States in search of greener pastures. His sudden declaration of full citizenship has now left fans, critics, and legal minds deeply divided.
While some believe the media personality may simply be enjoying the fruits of lawful residency, others argue that the timeline makes his claim highly unusual.
For now, Kaiyz remains unmoved by the backlash — standing firmly by his words:
“I am an American.”
