Uganda has confirmed 8 new cases, moments after President Yoweri Museveni extended to lockdown for 14 more days.

According to Data from the Ministry of Health, the 8 cases include 6 foreign truck Drivers, 1 Ugandan truck driver and 1 from Community detected through the Rapid Assessment Survey.

5 truck drivers arrived via Malaba border post, while 1 arrived via Mutukula point of entry, the ministry notes.

The 1 community case is a resident of Kyotera District, while the other is a Ugandan truck driver from Mutukula. This brings the total of confirmed cases to 97, 55 recoveries and 0 deaths.

Today’s cases were part of 2,246 samples tested on Monday.
