Singer and politician Kalifah AgaNaga has claimed that his academic performance in high school was better than that of many current Members of Parliament.
The "Nassanga" hitmaker made the remarks while challenging the perception that musicians lack the intelligence and leadership qualities needed to succeed in politics.
According to AgaNaga, entertainers are often underestimated despite possessing strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a close connection with ordinary citizens.
"I bet there are very few Members of Parliament in Uganda who performed better than me in high school," he said.
AgaNaga previously contested for the Kawempe North parliamentary seat in a by-election following the death of former MP Muhammad Ssegirinya on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket.
Although he lost the race, the singer rejected the outcome, alleging that the electoral process had been manipulated against him.
Despite the setback, AgaNaga has remained active in political discussions and continues to speak out on issues affecting Uganda.
