Legendary music producer, Washington, has called on Ugandan musicians, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, and Jose Chameleone, to expand their reach and work with artists from other East African countries.

He made the remarks while speaking to presenters at Flash Radio in Rwanda, where he was visiting to commemorate the 29th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Washington advised the trio to stop overdoing things for themselves and instead look to sign artists from Kenya, Nairobi, and Rwanda, as those artists have the money and fame to support their careers.

He stressed the need for successful people to support those around them and work with the younger generation to build a better future.

"You can not fight the young generation. You have to work with them. And you have to support them," he said.

Washington is no stranger to the music industry, having produced hit songs for many of Uganda's top artists, including Radio & Weasel, Chameleone, Bebe Cool, and Bobi Wine, and popular international stars like Wizkid. He is known for his unique sound and ability to discover new talent.

In his remarks, Washington emphasized the importance of collaboration and urged Ugandan musicians to work together to uplift the industry.

He noted that artists from neighboring countries have made significant strides in the music industry, and Uganda should follow suit.

"I don’t believe in people who are successful and people around them are not successful. You’re useless to me," he said
