Kampala's prominent politician, Mubarak Munyagwa, has consistently criticized the Fire Base Crew whenever he speaks about the National Unity Platform (NUP).
He recently claimed the Fire Base Crew is steering the leadership of the largest opposition party, alleging they have lost focus on removing President Museveni from the country's leadership.
He further explained that, as members of the Fire Base Crew, they are living comfortably at the expense of poor Ugandans.
However, in an interview with Sanyuka Television, Mubarak Munyagwa clarified that he has no problem with the Fire Base Band. He stated he loves their music and is a fan of their craft.
He emphasized that his disagreement with them lies in their political approach and their leadership style within the National Unity Platform.
"I have no problem with the Fire Base Band. In fact, I know most of their songs. I like their music, and we disagree when it comes to their leadership style and the struggle for freedom," he explained.
The President of the Common Man's Party further stated that he launched his political vehicle as an alternative to different political parties, including the National Unity Platform.
Munyagwa declared his intention to enter the presidential race, aiming to bring new leadership to the country's highest office.
