Several female musicians in the country have chosen to have children despite their demanding music careers. Among them are Cindy, Vinka, Karole Kasita, Sheebah Karungi, and Martha Mukisa.
Carol Nantongo, however, has not shown an interest in doing so, and she has opened up about her reasons.
Nantongo explained that she hasn't found an interest in getting pregnant because she believes she cannot sustain a pregnancy and a child financially at the moment. She wants to get pregnant and give birth when she can financially support herself and her children, even if their father is not in their lives.
"It's not that I don't want to get pregnant, but I want to do so when the man is ready to sustain it financially," she explained. "But I also want it when I can do it personally, even if he leaves my life. I will get pregnant when I can do it on my own and can financially sustain the pregnancy and the child."
Nantongo added that she will not rush and will only get pregnant at the right time.
The singer, who struggled growing up with her single mother, does not want her own children to go through the same. She wants to have children who have a bright future ahead of them.
