Musician Carol Nantongo has responded to criticism following her appearance at Maureen Nantume’s press conference earlier this week, where she turned heads in a skimpy outfit that exposed her inner garments.
Photos from the event quickly went viral, with critics accusing Nantogo of being disrespectful — especially in the presence of industry veterans like Mesach Semakula and Ronald Mayinja.
However, Nantogo has come out to defend herself, blaming the camera angles for the controversy.
“I’m someone who respects people. I didn’t wear a skimpy outfit — it’s the camera persons who took wrong shots for their own intentions. I’ve seen the backlash and I feel really affected,” she said.
The singer added that she has learned from the incident and will be more careful about her dressing at future events.
“I’ll do better going forward. I’m not someone who likes skimpy attires — it won’t happen again,” she promised.
