Amid reports that journalist Canary Mugume is currently struggling to gain access to his children with his estranged wife, Sasha Ferguson, musician and social critic Kazibwe Kapo has weighed in with a controversial opinion.
Kazibwe Kapo explicitly blames Mugume for the marital breakdown, asserting that the couple was "premature" for a stable marriage because they were in the same age bracket.
Kapo argues that relationships where both partners are still in the "grooming stage" are destined for failure. He instead advocates for a significant age difference in marriage to ensure maturity and stability.
"Interested girls are there, and Canary made a mistake by marrying young. It’s why I always advise people to marry with an age gap of at least 15 years. Both of you can’t be in the grooming stage; that’s dangerous. One person has to be more understanding, usually the older one. That’s why those two were beating each other; their ages match," he explained in an interview with a local YouTuber.
Advice to Move On
Kazibwe Kapo went further, offering harsh advice to Mugume: he urged the journalist to heal, move on to other women, and establish a new family where he can freely enjoy fatherhood. He emphasized that Mugume should not beg for access to his existing children.
"Since he doesn’t have access to his children now, he should look elsewhere and give birth to other kids he will be able to see. Keep supporting the other children, but you don’t see them until the mother decides. I can’t be begging to see my children like that; if you tell me I can’t see them, I move on," he added.
