YouTuber and gossip commentator Shalom Kaweesi has allegedly been admitted to Luzira Hospital following an asthmatic attack that occurred on Monday night, just days after his remand to prison.
According to fellow blogger and close associate Kasuku, Shalom’s condition was triggered by the cold and windy conditions at Luzira Prison, which reportedly worsened his long-standing asthma condition.
Kasuku revealed that Shalom experienced breathing complications late at night and briefly lost control of his breathing before prison medical workers intervened.
“The cold and strong winds at Luzira affected him badly. His asthma attacked him at night and he struggled to breathe. He was only saved because the medical practitioners at Luzira Hospital responded quickly,” Kasuku reportedly said.
Sources indicate that Shalom was rushed for urgent medical attention, where doctors managed to stabilise his condition after a frightening episode.
Shalom Kaweesi was remanded earlier this week by the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of hate speech and cyber harassment.
The cases were reportedly filed by Jennifer Nakagubi, also known as Full Figure, who is a presidential advisor.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by prison authorities regarding his medical condition, but reports suggest he remains under observation as investigations into his case continue.
The development has sparked concern among supporters and fellow content creators, many of whom are calling for expedited bail consideration on medical grounds.
