I Have Never Received Funding From Kenzo’s UNMF – Fefe Bussi

Rapper Fefe Bussi has come out to strongly deny allegations that he has ever received financial support from Eddy Kenzo’s Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, the outspoken rapper said he has never benefited from the federation and has never been part of it, contrary to claims that have circulated among music industry insiders and on social media.

According to Fefe Bussi, the only financial transaction he ever had involving Kenzo was purely business-related and not funding.

“I have never received funding from UNMF. I was never part of them and I will never be,” Fefe Bussi stated.

He clarified that during his concert at Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo, Eddy Kenzo only purchased a table worth UGX 5 million, insisting that it should not be misinterpreted as financial support from the federation.

“The only thing Kenzo did was buy a table worth five million shillings at my concert. That’s all—nothing more,” he explained.

Fefe Bussi went on to criticise UNMF, claiming the federation’s goals do not align with the real needs of musicians.

“I truly understand their aims and goals. They are not interested in musicians’ activities,” he added.

Despite his criticism, the rapper was quick to clarify that his stance is not rooted in personal animosity toward Eddy Kenzo.

“I don’t have any personal issues with Eddy Kenzo. I just differ with him ideologically,” Fefe Bussi said.

He further argued that while many sectors in the country—including healthcare and education—are facing serious challenges, Kenzo and those aligned with him choose to ignore these struggles.

“The country is suffering in every sector, but he doesn’t see that,” Fefe Bussi added.

The rapper’s remarks add to the growing list of artistes publicly distancing themselves from the UNMF, as debate continues over the federation’s role, influence, and political alignment within Uganda’s music industry.
