News anchor and reporter Josephine Namakumbi has reportedly parted ways with NBS Television, according to emerging media reports.

Namakumbi joined Next Media Services in 2019 and quickly became a familiar face on the station, especially as one of the anchors of the popular Luganda news bulletin “Amasengejje”, which she hosted on Fridays and occasionally over weekends.

However, sources within the media house claim that she later fell out with some editors and was gradually sidelined from key on-air roles. It is further alleged that Namakumbi has since bid farewell to close colleagues and is now planning to focus on her private business ventures.

Reports also suggest that NBS TV is currently undergoing internal restructuring, a move that could see several staff members lose their jobs in the coming months.

“They don’t want to sack like 20 people at a go because they fear it will cause alarm,” a source was quoted by Bbeg Media.

Namakumbi becomes the latest high-profile media personality to exit the station, joining MC Kats, who was reportedly asked to resign in December 2025.
