Musician Tracy Melon has opened up about the issue of alleged sex predators in the music industry, revealing she was cautioned before officially joining, it has emerged.
The Ugandan music industry has previously been marred by claims of sexual misconduct, with some allegations pointing at individuals in media, production, songwriting, management and promotion circles.
However, Tracy Melon says she has not personally fallen victim to such experiences throughout her time in the industry.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, the singer explained that she was warned early enough and prepared herself mentally to face any such challenges.
“I was cautioned about the sex predators in the industry when I was just joining it. I came ready to face them and they must be afraid,” she explained.
Tracy Melon also praised her management team for standing firmly by her side, noting that they have helped shield her from various industry challenges, including individuals with questionable intentions.
