Controversial YouTuber Kasuku says the final decision on how to share the UGX 5 billion pledged to content creators will come directly from Yoweri Museveni.
The outspoken media personality, whose real name is Isaac Katende, recently celebrated after the President promised to inject billions into a SACCO aimed at supporting digital creators across Uganda.
The funds, announced last month, are expected to boost operations of online media personalities, vloggers, and other digital influencers in the country.
According to Kasuku, the SACCO leadership — which includes fellow commentator Sendi and other content creators — is currently waiting for the President’s guidance on how the money will be distributed.
“I await guidance from the President on how division will be handled. However, I can state that all things are going to plan,” Kasuku said when asked about the controversial cash.
His remarks come at a time when debates have already erupted among content creators, with some questioning how the funds will be shared.
Despite the growing tension, Kasuku insists the process is moving smoothly and that the SACCO leadership is committed to ensuring the money benefits creators.
Meanwhile, President Museveni believes the UGX 5 billion investment will strengthen the digital sector and empower Ugandan content creators to grow their platforms and businesses.
