Upcoming musician King Zaale’s whereabouts remain unknown after he was allegedly arrested on Tuesday by unidentified armed men in Kamwokya, Kampala.
The dancehall artist, who is linked to the National Unity Platform (NUP), is said to have been picked up under unclear circumstances, reportedly related to his association with the opposition party.
Friends and fellow musicians have since raised concern, calling for his immediate release and demanding clarity on his situation.
In a statement shared online, NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya described the incident as a violent abduction.
“We have been informed of the violent abduction of our brother, King Zaale, from Kamwokya. Witnesses say armed men in a drone surrounded his vehicle, held him at gunpoint, forced him out of his car, and drove him to an unknown destination. The lawlessness continues,” the statement read.
King Zaale, a Kamwokya-born artist, rose through the ranks of the Firebase music crew, a group associated with Bobi Wine.
