Veteran Ugandan musician Master Parrot has reportedly died following a road accident along the Kampala Northern Bypass in Masanafu.

Born David Sifayo, Master Parrot was a founding member of the Firebase Crew and worked alongside prominent artists including Bobi Wine, Sizzaman, Buchaman, Toolman, and Weatherman.

According to eyewitness accounts, the musician was struck by a speeding vehicle while attempting to cross the busy highway on Monday evening.

Some witnesses alleged that Master Parrot appeared disoriented before the accident. However, claims that he may have been intoxicated remain unverified, and authorities have not confirmed the circumstances that led to the crash.

Police had not released an official statement at the time of publication, with investigations into the incident still ongoing.

Sources indicate that emergency responders and police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. His body was later transferred to Mulago National Referral Hospital as investigations commenced.

Master Parrot rose to prominence in Uganda’s music industry through his dancehall and reggae-inspired music, becoming a household name among music fans in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

His death has saddened many within the entertainment industry, with fellow musicians and fans paying tribute to his contribution to Uganda’s music scene.
