Veteran singer Cindy Sanyu has opened up about the challenges of succeeding in male-dominated spaces, saying women are often judged more harshly than men for the same mistakes.

Speaking during an interview with a local television station, the self-proclaimed "King Herself" said one of the biggest lessons she learned early in her career was that society tends to excuse men's mistakes more easily than women's.

"The world excuses men a lot compared to women. So I learned that even small mistakes made by a woman can affect her so much," she said.

Cindy explained that this reality pushed her to remain disciplined and protect her integrity throughout her music career.

According to the singer, there were times when she lost out on potential collaborations because she refused to compromise her values or participate in exploitative arrangements.

"It becomes tricky when all you want to discuss is business while others are willing to sell their soul," she partly explained.

Despite the challenges, Cindy said she has no regrets about the path she chose.

She believes her success has been earned through hard work and integrity rather than shortcuts.

"When I sit in my seat, I adjust myself comfortably because I know I didn't use any shortcuts to get here," she stated.
