The MTV Africa Music Awards (also known as the (MAMAs ) were established in 2008 by MTV Networks Africa to celebrate Africa's creative work.
The first awards ceremony was launched in 2008 in Abuja,Nigeria.
In 2009 the fun was taken to Kenya where American rapper Wyclif Jean was the highlight and then 2010 back to Lagos in Nigerian.
However, the organizing committee was hit by an economic spell and the awards went mute for three years resurrecting in 2014 and since then South Africa has been the host.
On Saturday night yet another event of the MAMA's took place and here are is the full list of winners.

Personality of The Year -Caster Semenya
Best Hip Hop Category -Emtee
Best Breakthrough Act category -Tekno Miles.

Uganda had three representatives BebeCool losing Listeners choice award, Sheeba lost video of the year and Eddie Kenzo lost to Casper Nyovest under the best live act category.
