Behind every successful event in Uganda, there is always that unsung hero. There is that person, a promoter who takes care of all the details to ensure that you enjoy absolute comfort and enjoyment at the end of the day.
A promoter bears all the risk. They pay artistes and reliable for whatever happens to the event. They look for sponsors, do the publicity and then wait for the D -day to reap off gate collection.

Business within the Uganda music and Entertainment Industry has been on the rise considerably and has in recent times been rated one of the biggest in east Africa because of its tremendous growth. Thanks to the new generation of businessmen and young creative minds in the industry. This game started in the early 2000's when the late Kasiwukira used to pay off musicians for their albums and then attain rights to produce more copies and sell at a profit.Let's check out the list of the prominent "Bivulu" promoters.

Ssabavulu Balaam

Balaam Barugahara

Call him the undisputed king of showbiz, entertainment and event packaging, and you’ll be absolutely right. Barugahare Balaam has handled all Jose Chameleone album launches; he was in charge of providing entertainment for NRM during the campaign trails across the country. He is the brain behind the most the annual end of year fireworks show at Sheraton hotel sponsored by Uganda Waragi. The list is endless.
Today, it is safe to say that Balaam has cornered a huge chunk of the market when it comes to big budget concerts and live shows, he is well respected in the industry and practically has his hands in everything within and outside entertainment, this is because apart from organising sell-out  shows and concerts
He is also into real estate in Uganda and Sudan.

Julius Kyazze

Julius Kyazze

Most people won't recognise this guy if they bumped into him on street. Most of the times, he hides behind the camera but he is the man behind Swangz Avenue and Buzz events. He is the brain behind buzz leaver’s rock, Miss Teens and Buzz awards.
All these shows have been a success in the past and recently Julius decided to join mainstream events. Swangz is behind Roast and Rhyme, a day event where revellers enjoy music as they enjoy roasted meat. Irene Ntale's first ever successful show at Sheraton hotel gardens was engineered by Buzz Events. Julius is also behind the award-winning reggae band Morgan Heritage that will rock Kampala in Easter season at Cricket oval.
Swangz Avenue has also handled commercial adverts like Uganda cranes Tulumbe, Milk Man, Airtel Money and many more.

Kavuma

Real names Robert Kavuuma is yet another event mogul whose performance and success cannot be doubted. His ability is seen when it comes to risking on major concerts like, during the Goodlyfe Vs Bebe cool battle, he paid each party a Shs100m. he was behind the recent record-breaking concert by Sheeba Karungi at hotel Africana where he paid off Team No sleep management 51M Uganda Shillings and he also has a forthcoming Rema Namakula show in May at the same venue.

Alibai 

Ali alibha and wife

Talent Africa's boss, Ali Alibhai has been in this game for some time. He is remembered for having started former Club Rouge that was located at Plaza building Jinja road.
Ali has a taste for exotic events and has booked a lot of international musicians as well. Under his label Talent Africa, he brought Tiwa Savage that performed on women's day in 2015 that was held at Kati Kati, all Navio's concerts, Silent Disco series and this year he is set to organise France Uganda show coming up plus a night for the American Deejay Diplo.

Kibirige Bobkins 

Bobkins

Popularly known under his marketing agency, Kibo media, Bobkins is another strong pillar of this events game.He gained popularity after taking up the life of Radio and Weasel annual concerts starting from ‘Nakudatta’ in 2008 to the last one ‘Amaaso’ before they fell out.
All the shows staged by the duo were a success and were powered by club beer. Bobkins recently joined the sports business and now stages match at the Namboole national stadium. He has organised several rally events.
