Appearing on a local TV station this morning, Owek. Muliika said the frustration levels are high especially against the opposition and media.
According to the former Katikkiro, the media, which is also the fourth estate is supposed to be the societal watchdog but sometimes fails due to frustrations by the regime and police.
He explains that Suffocation of press people might force the media to break away.
The development comes barely a day after the human rights watch released a report indicating that the media in Uganda are frustrated by the regime and mostly police.
This would later be denied by the Police boss Gen. Kale Kayihura who accused the HRW of unprofessionalism, claiming his department was not consulted while making the report.
The report indicates that local radio show hosts are intimidated into giving mileage to the current regime or face torture for giving airtime or NEWs stories to opposition candidates. Owek. Muliika says this is a very dangerous move.
