The police are investigating circumstances under which the NRM flag bearer for Mukono south constituency Mr. Muyanja Johnson claims he was attacked by two men armed with AK47 riffles and moving on a Boda Boda.

According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, Muyanja claims to have been attacked on his way home along Katosi - Mukono road in a valley at kasala village, Katosi parish, Nakisunga in Mukono.

Muyanja claims to have identified his attackers, and three suspects have so far recorded statements at Mukono police station.

However, Enanga says they are still interrogating the complainant to understand how he could have identified these attackers, whom they expected to be smarter than he describes them.

“By the time you are indentifying two people, that means they are driving in front of you because with the operations of assailants on Boda Bodas, they take you by surprise. They attack you when you are entering your home, at the gate or in your compound, they will not attempt to just shoot at a moving vehicle, because their motive is murder.”Enanga added

According to the spokesperson, the ballistic experts are carrying out an analysis because there were bullets which riddled the vehicle, a double cabin, in which he was travelling through the driver’s seat.
